 Explanatory note

This classifier organizes applications according to the age-class and the lapse of time necessary to provide the specific service on the national territory of the Republic of Moldova by the Public Services Agency.

For applications submitted in a foreign country, the 30, 15 and 5 days deadlines for issuing the Moldovan passport must be added to the period required for processing the application by the diplomatic mission / consular post, for delivering the application file to the "Public Services Agency" and, eventually, for  delivering of any documents completed abroad. The total time required varies depending on the country in which the application was submitted.

The indicative deadline for delivering the passport to Canada is 3.5 months for applications submitted for examination within 30 days. For applications submitted for examination in 15 and 5 days, the deadline for delivery of the passport may vary considerably depending on the date of submission of the application.

The Embassy makes every reasonable effort to ensure the rapid processing of passport applications. However, the Embassy cannot guarantee an exact date of passport receipt, since the delivery time of the passport is indicative and may vary.

The diplomatic mission kindly encourages citizens to consider submitting their passport application at least 5 months before the expected date of use of the document. For persons who have reached the age of 16 and have not been provided previously with Moldovan ID card, we recommend starting the proceedings at least 6 months before the expected date of use of the new document.
